Published by
Liesel Kehoe, a sophomore at Edmond North High, won the girls 5,000-meter championship in an Oklahoma state all-time best 16:38.47 at Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Kehoe eclipsed the mark of 16:48.78 achieved March 18 by Payton Hinkle of Broken Arrow at the Southlake Carroll Texas Distance Festival. Kehoe now boasts the Oklahoma state 3,200-meter record of 10:30.30 from April at the Owasso Ram Relays, along with the 5,000 all-time prep performance. Kehoe is the first sophomore to win the 5,000 title since Sydney Masciarelli of Marianapolis Prep in Connecticut triumphed in 2019. Kehoe also elevated among the top five sophomore performances in meet history, along with the top 20 overall all-time marks. More videos |
